Why am I removing this post?

Because apparently no matter how many disclaimers I stick on some numbers I came up with on the back of an envelope before my morning coffee, concerning both those factors and how they represent a hypothetical extreme case that no-one would actually use even if it were possible, people insist on taking them as canonical in-regular-use figures.

The ensuing arguments based on increasingly nonsensical extrapolations of my original ass-pulls bore me, and degrade the quality of the universe.

As such, my new policy is that people who can’t use figures responsibly don’t get figures, savvy?

To sum up my intentions for you all regarding Cyfnos's behavior in re that particular ideology: On one hand, I am not willing, in the interests of the principle of freedom of speech to outright ban all discussions that may mention it at one time or another. On the other hand, extended discussions of it, especially from its fans but also in general, grate very much upon my soul. I find them acutely unpleasant. Hence, the bot, whose interruptions are, as it were, a Pigovian tax on the externality. One yell when it is mentioned in passing is not particularly significant, but the ongoing yelling should make extended commie-talk as irritating for all other participants as it has proven for me, and therefore provides incentive to keep it at a level we can all live with. Since merging #dank back into #random because people were behaving reasonably in it was immediately taken as an invitation to behave unreasonably, the following already-existing informal rules are now made formal: 25. There is no free-for-all, meme or otherwise, in #random. Relevancy to the server topic, to other users' interests, or to the flow of conversation will be enforced. Off-topic chatter is not equivalent to "I can one-off shitpost any damn thing that crosses my mind". This is not Twitter, 4chan, Spacebattles, or other hellsite of choice, and I'm damned if it's going to turn into one. 26. This especially means NO MEME DUMPS. Lack of moderation will be moderated. Same penalties as in #24.

This, unfortunately, is an announcement that productivity and quality both may be taking a considerable hit for a while. This is because the backplane of my NAS, whereupon are stored my notes and works in progress and damn near everything else, for writing and all other projects, chose Saturday as the perfect day to fail itself irreparably; and Because as a writer with a traditional writer's income level and regularity, I cannot currently afford the lousy 400 bucks to replace the goddamn thing; and To add some turd candles to this shit cake, while I'm not too proud to beg, at least not after three falls and enough booze, GoFundMe is apparently too fucked up right now to let me. Feel free to do the needful for the duration; I don't expect anyone to pay for work I cannot currently do, and I promise I will feel good about this stance the moment my frustrated rage levels stop being somewhere in the zone between "red-tinted pulsing vision" and "must end it all, by which I mean destroy the whole fucking universe". End of line.

Should you notice your friend and mine @Heuristic Algorithmic popping in and out of these parts, that’s perfectly normal. He’s our new still-under-development bot with assorted new features, including planned highlight-pinning functionality. (Just FYI.)
